Who I Am

I am Jameel Ahmad, a full-stack engineer with 2+ years of Next.js experience and a published research paper in AI-driven medical imaging. I build reliable, scalable systems across the stack—from backend services and REST APIs to polished, performant UIs—with end-to-end ownership from design to deployment. I am currently developing LucidHire, an AI-powered candidate screening platform, as an independent project.

I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science from GIFT University (2021–2025) with a CGPA of 3.8/4.0.

• Built a School Management System using Next.js 15, TypeScript, and Drizzle ORM, with multi-role access for administrators, teachers, and students.
• Collaborated with Innovorus engineers on scalable dashboards and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Integrated Clerk, Neon DB, and Cloudinary for operations and media handling.
• Validated multi-role flows and critical journeys with Playwright (via Testsprite).

Projects

• LucidHire — AI candidate screening platform (in progress). AI-driven recruitment with CV parsing, semantic candidate ranking, and interview question generation. Stack: Next.js, Vercel AI SDK, Gemini API, pgvector (hybrid search), Trigger.dev, Neon PostgreSQL, Clerk Auth; E2E tests with Playwright via Testsprite. Alpha: lucidhire.io.

• Video transcoding service (HLS). FFmpeg pipeline converting uploads to HLS with adaptive bitrate across five resolutions (240p–1080p). Watch demo.

• Wellness tracking app. Full-stack tracker with Next.js 15, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL for hydration, sleep, mood, and workouts. Lighthouse: SEO 100, Accessibility 96. Live app.

Open Source

• Neon — PR #3099, PR #3100 (merged): fixed a function name inconsistency in Clerk+Neon auth docs and corrected a broken currentUser import path (@clerk/nextjs → @clerk/nextjs/server) that caused runtime errors.

• Clerk — PR #2434: documented username validation rules to help diagnose silent 422 errors during user creation via the Backend SDK; guidance later reflected in PR #2603.

• Appwrite — PR #1472 (merged): documentation fix on the Appwrite website.

• IOPaint — commit: Python script using OpenCV and IOPaint’s inpainting API to batch-remove watermarks from the DermNet dataset while preserving class-folder structure for ML training.

Extra-curricular

Led the university team to 1st place at district level and 6th place internationally out of 59 teams in the CERTs Challenge 2022, focused on emergency response and mass casualty management.
